THE UNFINISHED WALL

My grandmother always tells the same story about my father and my aunt. It happened nearl 35 years ago, when my father was a child and my aunt was a teenager.

My family lived in a very old house, there were only three bedroom and my father and his sister slept in the same bedroom. When my aunt was thirteen, my grandparents decided to separate them but there wasn't any other bedroom, because one of them was their grandfather's room and the other one was their parents'. So they agreed to build a wall in the middle of the room. It was a good solution but they had a little problem. It was very difficult to built the highest part of the wall due to an arcade, that's why the wall didn't reach the ceiling. That was really good fot them, because my father and my aunt couldn't see each other but they could talk for hours every night. They were never scared, and always had a good time together. They invented a lot of games. For example, my aunt ham a song and my father tried to guess which song it was. Or my father started telling a story and my aunt had to continue it. And so every day, for many years.

My grandmother always says that my father and my aunt have a very good relationship because of that magical unfinished wall.

FACE-TO-FACE COMMUNICATION

Nowadays, people don’t talk face-to-face with the others as they used to do then years ago. It’s because technology is better and it’s easier to communicate with e-mails, whatsapps, telephone calls or other social nets.

In our opinion, we think that face-to-face communication is better than other types of communication.

Firstly text messages can cause arguments because people can understand the messages wrong and get angry with their friends. If they meet, at the street without technologies, maybe it doesn’t success.

Secondly, people, specially teenagers, stay at home because they feel more communicate talking with a lot of friends on their phone than meeting their real friends on the street, face- to-face.

For this reason we think that if children didn’t have a mobile phone earlier like nowadays and their parents had been stricter with their children, this problem will be reduced a lot. Because we think that the root of the problem is that people has leave their mobile phones and talk face- to-face with their real friends.

To sum up, we agree with face-to-face communication because if people aren’t always watching their phones, they can live happier and they realize that in the world there are a lot of things better than staying at home with a PC or a mobile phone.
